The Book of Secrets is inspired by the world of ancient magic, sorcery and alchemy.
This is a mixed media handbound journal measuring 6x7 inches on the outside, with pages measuring 5 x 6.75 inches. The pages are handtorn black paper. Counted on both sides, there are 320 pages in this journal. The signatures are handsewn on a medium stiff leather spine in beige nylon threads.
The covers are made from mdf boards. This journal has been distressed and aged. The covers are decorated with painting techniques, image transfers and copyrighted designs. The focal motif is an assemblage of a large gear from a salvaged antique clock, a rusted washer and a dragonfly charm. The covers are finished with several coats of satin varnish to protect the artwork.
