RM Renfield : You seek to draw her in, surely you have the power to simply take her.
Alexander Grayson : To turn her into such as I am … it would be an abomination.
Inspired by the latest reimagining of Dracula, this mixed media piece seeks to incorporate all the elements I loved in this mini-series. The meeting of old world opulence with industrial steampunk create a universe of wonderment, where business dealings, lust, power, world domination and secret societies all stewed into a cauldron of vampiric soup.
But all of that would pale in comparison to 4 centuries of undying love. Imagine loving someone for 400 years only to discover she's now at arm's reach … yet … unattainable, for she has already promised her heart to someone else. Or has she?
This piece distills everything that captured my imagination in this Dracula ... lost love, found love, eternal love, time past, time eternity, blood lust, grandeur, debauchery … all in a Gothic Steampunk fashion.
This mixed media piece is a combination of copper, brass, paper, clay, paint, sealer, an old clock face, a small gear, a single wing, brass tone stampings, 2 pieces of Garnet beads, 1 piece of rustic Howlite and other chains and findings. The choker is made of leather, fabric, eyelets, copper and other brass-tone findings.
* this necklace wears 15.5 inches round the neck with a 3.5 inch chain extension.
* the pendant from bail to end 7.5 inches.
