It's been such a while since I have returned to the place I fondly call 'old world romance' in my many imaginary plains. Tonight I returned there briefly and was presented with this sweet, feminine cuff bracelet from time past. Marveling at the etched writings together with a mail stamp, it reminded me of the days where men still courted women only stealing kisses when permitted and love was declared in poetic writings with ink on paper.
This piece is the coming together of everything romantic … stained lace, strands of frayed ribbons weaved into a braid, rustic beads and chain droppings caressing the wrist. The focal is a buckle-like piece made with clay, stamped and painted, and mounted on a piece of copper augmented by fire and patina creating a plate not unlike something that has been unearthed from many decades of silent slumber.
* The cuff wears at 7 inches, but the chain allows it to go up to 8 inches
* ribbons and beads are handsewn onto the lace
