As I was assembling the different elements in this pair of mixed media earrings, it suddenly dawned upon me that I was combining the organic with the industrial. And surprisingly, they look so at home together. The peacock feathers and the tiny clock gears, the natural stones with the hardwear nuts seem to be working in harmony. Why then can human kind not coexist with the natural world in harmony? Why then can we not work together to create a more beautiful earth which we all call home?

This pair of earrings is made out of antique brass findings, bits of hardware and clock gears, peacock feathers and a pair of Picasso Jaspers. The earwire is 20 gauge artistic wire, hammered for strength.

the stones remind me of an egg the symbol of life, enhanced by the feathers and the birdlike drop.
