Being a Fantasy genre fan, I too share the excitement that surrounds the premier of Breaking Dawn 1. Inspired by 3 main storylines that attract me in the Twilight Saga, I have come up with a series of 3 wearable book necklaces, each a personal interpretation of these storylines using the symbol of the Heart as the underlying theme.

“I Do” symbolizes the point in time where Bella and Edward give their self(s) to each other. The wedding is the confirmation of Bella’s willingness to give up her mortality to the man she loves. The wedding also marks the point where Edward in actuality gives up his comfortable and solitary life to a shared existence, for better or for worse. He knows that this path would not be an easy one for it may cost his and his family’s existences, but is still willing to take the risks for the mortal he loves.

“Choose Me” symbolizes the constant pain and struggle of Jacob Black. A wolf trapped and bound in a man, not of his choosing but of his heritage. His heart trapped and bound, at his own choosing when he chose to love a person who cannot reciprocate, yet he is willing and would even sacrifice his life for her. Raw and rustic, yet true and righteous is this man-wolf.

“The Royal Coven” is a manifestation of extravagance, royalty, opulence and indulgence. It is regal but cold, it is ornate yet stylish. But mostly, it is passionate, yet … there is no compassion, as symbolized by the dagger striking straight into the Heart. It is the embodiment of the Volturi.

These mixed media necklaces combine a mix of antique brass/copper/silver findings and stampings, beads, clay, paint, paper, fabric, fiber and lace (not every element is in all the 3 pieces). The miniature handmade book cover rawhide leather, the pages are handtorn, coffee stained and sewn into 5 signatures of 8.

* length of the necklace is 30 inches in circumference, no clasp

* the book measures 1.5 (W) x 2 (H) x 0.75 (T) inches and has 156 writable pages. Pages are coffee stained.

:) thank you :)
i wanted to make something inspired by twilight but didn't want the pieces to be too twi-in-the-face. so i made something that would embody the essence of certain elements that i find attractive in the saga. i hope that these pieces are good enough to stand on their own, even to those who are not twi-fans or those who are not familiar with the books or the movies. and that fans and non-fans alike can appreciate them as just gothic theme-ed pieces and unique wearable little books. :)

oh p/s ... but i admit that i'm as crazy about twilight as i am about Harry Potter, LOTRs and Narnia :) Dun kill me tho ... i understand they are all different but i appreciate them as they are :)

I don't hold anything against Twihards. I'm just not one myself. I don't prefer the style of writing, but I understand people who do.
The pieces, in general, are very nice. I love the gothic, rustic feel of many of your pieces.
