the Time is Now

Continuing from my Time Traveler story, this piece again, addresses the theme of Time. Unlike my Time Traveler who is able to move through time in his alternate reality, in the real world we cannot. Unlike the clock face on my time pendant whose numbers are reversed, in reality that does not happen. That is how the title to this piece came about.

I have seen many of my friends miss opportunities whether it be career or love, because they did not seize the opportunities presented to them at that point in time. I admit that I am also not innocent of procrastination, especially during my younger days. The Time in Now, reminds us that we need to take action now, for opportunities only appear once and once passed, you could never turn back time.

This mixed media piece is an assemblage of repurposed copper, dark annealed steel wires, brass wires augmented by fire, a variety of old clock gears, a fragment of a printed clock face with reversed numbers, resin, fabric over bronze wire, epoxy clay, patina solution and paint.

*the Necklace wears approximately 16 inches round the neckline, detachable from both frontal hooks.
*Pendant is 3.5 inches from bail to end
